Heeren PRs to win shot at Hampton

HAMPTON – Even though before this meet, North Butler’s Nicole Heeren admitted to feeling a little sluggish, it didn’t stop her from pulling out a personal best in the shot put to take the individual title at the Lake Bulldogs Relays at Hampton.

Heeren’s effort of 38 feet, 3.5 inches was good enough to win it and led the Bearcats to an 11th place team finish in the 14-team field.

“Today I felt a little down, a little sluggish, but it must have been okay,” Heeren said. “I had a good PR and am excited for next week, too..."
