ALLISON – Despite missing the last three weeks of the regular season, North Butler senior pitcher Taylor Graven was tabbed as the Top of Iowa East Conference softball player of the year.
Graven, a Division I Western Kentucky University signee, finished with a 17-5 and a 9-0 conference record in the Top of Iowa Conference before a ribcage injury sidelined her shortly after North Butler’s home tournament in mid-June.
Her ERA of 0.32 was second in the state overall behind only Kee, Lansing’s Courtney Cooper. In conference action, her ERA was an even better at 0.27 with a strikeout to walk ratio of 10 to 1.
