Another year of free gospel concerts at the New Hartford Community Center kicks off on September 25 with a hymn sing with specials by Lindy and Anna Aswegen and Ray and Nancy Hemmer on September 25 at 7 p.m.
Over the past eight years, the concert series has become a favorite among area residents, and regularly draws crowds from throughout Butler County, Cedar Falls and the surrounding region. Attendees enjoy heartwarming music and popcorn the last Tuesday of each month, and great fellowship afterward with delicious refreshments.
The October 30 concert will feature Gary Froiland from Stewartville, Minnesota, a very talented country-style one-man band.
“He plays I don’t know how many instruments—some he makes himself,” Ray Hemmer said. “He’s incredible. He uses a handsaw … and takes a bow string and makes music with that handsaw by just moving it back and forth.”
