LATIMER – Perfect free throw shooting for Israel Rivera and Luke Rapp down the stretch helped the CAL boys basketball team complete the Iowa Star Conference season sweep of Clarksville on Tuesday, Feb. 7.
The Cadets were 21-of-30 from the line overall, 12-of-17 in the fourth quarter with both Rivera and Luke Rapp 4-of-4 in the final quarter of the 58-50 final.
“We actually practice those (free throws) a lot,” CAL coach Austin Guerrero said, “because at the beginning of the season I know a lot of games haven’t been close but especially second quarter and fourth quarter we let leads get longer because of free throws..."
The entire story appears in the Feb. 16 print edition of the Clarksville Star.
