Five months after the storm – Ackermans rebuilding

Last weekend was typical of the past 20 for the Ackermans.

Both Gene and Karen have been working to reconstruct their home, located off C33, east of Clarksville.

Five months ago, the June 16 tornadoes blew their roof and acreage down. And they are yet to return.  

“The hardest part has been both of us working full-time in Waterloo and Cedar Falls, and then coming back here and working until 10 or 11 p.m. cleaning up,” said Gene.
