Faces at Clarksville: Meet PE Teacher Ross Timmermans

Ross Timmermans will be a new co-athletic director this coming school year. He said the foremost values he’d like to see students graduate with are respect, resiliency and good communication skills.

“The pain that you have been feeling cannot compare to the joy that is coming,” a note written by a student in PE Teacher Ross Timmermans’ office reads.

This coming school year, Timmermans will be serving with Ashten Henningsen as co-athletic director.

In his second year at Clarksville, Timmermans teaches an 8th grade life-skills class, freshman health, and 9th to 12th grade PE. He also teaches a lifting class.

Timmermans graduated from Vinton-Shellsburg high school. He attended Coe College for a year, transferred to Kirkwood for a year, and then earned his bachelor’s degree in fitness management after two more years at Wartburg. While in school, he played college basketball.
