Delores Elizabeth Siefken, 93

Delores Elizabeth Siefken, age 93, of Clarksville, Iowa, was born the daughter of Harley Charles and Bertha Anna (Arjes) Duffield, on December 30, 1931, in Bristow, Iowa. She graduated from Bristow High School in 1949. After graduation, Delores attended Waverly Business College, then worked at Lutheran Mutual Insurance.
On February 27, 1951, Delores was united in marriage with Glenn Harley Siefken at the Church of Christ in Bristow. The couple made their home and farmed on his farm north of Bristow. Delores was a long-time employee of the Rehabilitation Center of Allison where she worked in the kitchen and as the activities director. Delores and Glenn moved into Bristow in 1993, then to Clarksville in January of 2013.
Delores was an active member of the Church of Christ in Clarksville. She served as president of the women’s fellowship and taught Sunday School. She enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking. Delores loved singing with her three sisters, snowmobiling with Glenn and the neighborhood Halloween parties. Delores and Glenn enjoyed singing in the Clarksville variety show called “Country Roads Show”.
Delores passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Clarksville Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Clarksville, of natural causes. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Glenn, on May 9, 2019; her parents, Harley and Bertha Duffield; a sister, Audrey Rosenwinkle; and a brother-in-law, Claude Sabino.
Delores is survived by four children, Thomas Siefken of Fort Madison, Iowa, Mark (Jean) Siefken of Janesville, Iowa, Randall (Marcia) Siefken of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Rebecca (Keith) Ubben of Bristow, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Emily (Courtney) Schoch, Kariann (Matt) Gennaro, Adam (Shannon) Henning, Lori Gallerick, Brian (Anna) Gallerick, Reghann (Adam Donovan) Snere, Justin (Elizabeth) Siefken, Samantha (Matt) Wedeking, and Tabitha Ubben; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dawn (Gene) Bruhn of Clarksville, Anita Sabino of Peoria, Arizona and Miriam Marshall of Scottsdale, Arizona; a brother-in-law, Bill Rosenwinkle of Des Moines, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
Delores’s funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Church of Christ in Clarksville, with Pastor Val Swinton officiating. Pianist was Diane Renning and she accompanied the congregation as they sang “What A Friend We Have In Jesus” and “Nearer To The Heart Of God”. Kelly Rosenwinkle provided special music as she sang “How Great Thou Art”. The burial was held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Dumont, Iowa, with Justin Siefken, Blake Siefken, Elijah Wright, Joel Garretson, Greg Conrad and Matt Wedeking serving as Casketbearers. Rhon Arjes served as the Honorary Casketbearer.
