Defending state champs end Clarksville run

FORT DODGE – Only Kee, Lansing, the defending Class 1A state softball champions, could accomplish what no one else had this season.
The Kee Hawks held the Indians bats at bay in the state title game on Friday, July 21 as coach Katie Wedeking’s team scored their school’s highest finish at the state tournament in an 8-1 loss.
All-state pitcher and 1A all-tournament captain Courtney Cooper one-hit Clarksville as it finished the season 29-3 overall and state runner-up.
“We knew they were a really tough team,” coach Wedeking said. “Obviously, they have two good pitchers..."
