Cougars, Bearcats spirited in volleyball opener

ACKLEY – Neither team lacked for energy in this non-conference volleyball opener between AGWSR and North Butler.
However, it was a quick start for the Cougars that eventually proved to be the different as they took the four-set win over the Bearcats on Monday, Aug. 20 at Ackley, 25-16, 25-23, 22-25, 25-20.
AGWSR came out of the chute with a 5-0 lead in the opening set and had a 20-9 advantage before a little bit of a rally by North Butler to close out the initial game.
