Clipping sheds light on father's service in WWII

  Those who served their country often have interesting stories to tell, but drawing them out is the challenge.
  "My dad didn't share much with us about his time in World War II," daughter Karen (Konig) Alberts said. "He would talk about the weather and how wet and muddy it was, and places his battalion served in Northern Africa, Sicily and Italy. My dad loved history and driving into Rome was quite impressive for a young country boy from Iowa."
  When an Allison family was renovating their kitchen and found insulation — the Allison Tribune from May 16, 1945 — with Vern Konig's name, they shared it with Konig's family.
