Clarksville Council to switch to monthly utility billing

The Clarksville City Council approved a resolution at Monday night’s council meeting to switch its utility billing from quarterly to monthly.
Deputy City Clerk Lori Peterson said that the motivation for the switch was primarily public driven. Clarksville is one of the few cities in the region to be billing quarterly for utilities. The switch to monthly would also align better with the city’s new software.
Peterson also said that monthly billing would alert customers to system problems, sooner. Should there be a water leak somewhere, customers would be able to find the problem sooner than 90 days. The transition will take approximately one year to complete, with the completion date set for February 2018, Peterson said.
