Seniors marched in to an arrangement of Pomp and Circumstance, played by the band, conducted by John Sundet.
High School Principal Robert Saathoff welcomed the group, family and friends. Saathoff said this may well be the last time he faces a graduating class, as he steps down from his role as full-time high school principal.
His advice for the class consisted of several points. Don’t buy what you can’t pay for; plastic is not cash. If you choose to do so, find a partner worthy of you. Have a vision of what you want in life and work hard. Your body is your temple; take care of it. In the words of President Kennedy, ask not what your country and community can do for you. Ask what you can do for others. Be a worker and provider, not a dependent. And finally, never hate; forgive.
