Butler County Fair draws thousands - Maddie Poppe headlines concert

A line of music-lovers wound through the fairgrounds and down Allison’s Main Street Friday evening as over 3100 fairgoers from throughout Butler County, across the state, and from as far away as Canada, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Nebraska arrived to listen to Maddie Poppe and Caleb Lee Hutchinson in concert on Friday evening.
     The concert was one of many highlights throughout the week at the Butler County Fair.
     Ask fairgoers what they enjoyed most at the fair, and you’ll get a variety of answers: some will say the concert. Others will say the Night of Destruction, Chuckwagon Races, Scrambles, other grandstand events, the livestock shows, the rides, the food, malts, the pirate show and Kids’ Day activities. But the best part of the fair may not even be the great events–it’s the spirit of community.
     “The Butler County Fair brings so many towns together to make everyone feel like one big family,” said Amy Day-Paulding of Aplington.
