Butler Conservation sets goal to connect trail to Bristow

Baby steps are being taken to continue the growth of the Rolling Prairie Trail.

Butler Conservation and Nature Board have applied for grants to extend the trail another 6.9 miles to Bristow.

A five-year plan has been placed to secure funds for the addition, as well as partner with Bristow and Dumont to pave trails in their city limits.

“We’re trying to set ourselves up to be successful for future grants by partnering with communities to get pavement in them,” said Mike Miner, Butler Conservation and Nature director. “Because to connect to them, we’ll need a lot of grants later on.”
