From piano solos to tap dancing, and from vocal duets to quartets, the Bill Riley Talent Search at the Butler County Fair on Sunday, June 23 had something for everyone’s tastes.
In the Sprouts division, the first-place winner and state qualifier was Gabriella Kramer of Dumont, who sang “Not Today.”
Second place went to Ella Maker and Kalli Tiedt, both of Jesup, who sang “Count on Me.” Third place was won by Kelsey Morud of Mason City with a tap dance.
In the senior division, Kate Tomson of Jesup won first place with the musical theater performance “My Lifelong Love.” Since Tomson had already qualified for state, the second-place winners, The Lind Sisters (Margaret, Naomi, Maya and Elaina Lind), of Parkersburg, qualified with their performance of “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.” Third place went to Megan Wheelock of Waterloo, who sang “Times are Hard for Dreamers.”
