Bids will be opened to repair the Rolling Prairie Trail near Clarksville this month.
At the council meeting Monday evening, Mike Miner, director of the Butler County Conservation Board said the trail would be lowered between 1.5 feet and 2 feet for about 350 feet—the maximum that can be done within the FEMA scope of repair.
The total cost of the project is $218,000. FEMA will pay 75 percent. The state will pay 10 percent, and Butler County Conservation will pay the remaining 15 percent.
This project will be one step in the flood mitigation process.
