Bearcats bow out to No. 7 Tripoli

TRIPOLI -- It would be easy to be intimidated by all the state volleyball banners and the packed trophy case outside the Tripoli gymnasium.

 

North Butler showed no signs of that, but it still couldn't avoid the fate of a 3-0 sweep at the Panthers' place in the Class 1A Region 5 quarterfinal on Monday, Oct. 23.

 

Tripoli, ranked seventh in Class 1A, was given a battle in the first and third sets, but emerged with a 25-21, 25-12, 25-19 win to advance to today's (Thursday) semifinal against North Iowa, which swept Rockford on Monday.
