Allison resident part of historic day

Linda Cassman-Randall of Allison [far right] was present when Gov. Terry Branstad signed a proclamation declaring Nov. 21 Mayflower Compact Day in Iowa. Cassman-Randall was one of five Iowa Society of Mayflower Descendants to be in Pilgrim attire during signing on Nov. 6. On Sept. 16, 1620, the Mayflower left Plymouth, England, bound for the New World. The voyage took 66 days, as the 102 passengers [now referred as Pilgrims] reached the Cape Cod coast of America.
