How long have you served on the crew?
I began as a driver in June of 2017 when I moved to town and became licensed as an EMT soon after in April of 2018.
Why is it important to you to serve the community?
It is important for me to serve the community through EMS as there is a critical need to do so in rural Iowa where primary coverage comes from volunteer services.  I have a true passion for helping and journeying with others through all of life’s situations and am privileged to do so as an EMS provider.
What is the best part of serving on the crew?
The best part of serving on the crew is being present with members of the community in moments of great need in addition to the friendships that are created amongst the crew.
What is the most challenging part?
Serving on the crew is most difficult when you find yourself in a critical situation that does not have an outcome one would hope for.  Yet even in these difficult situations the crew comes together to support one another in our shared experience of grief.
