CLARKSVILLE – Every once in a while, a player has an unexpected night that he hasn’t had before.
That night belonged to AGWSR’s Tanner Weichers, who finished with a career-high 20 points to help the Cougars break a five-game losing streak with a 58-56 win over Clarksville on Monday, Jan. 14.
Weichers, a 6-foot-4 junior, poured in 20 points – 16 after halftime – to rally by the Indians at their place.
“He did a nice job and we did a nice job of getting him the ball and he did a nice job of finishing and taking shots,” AGWSR coach Russ Banzhaf said. “Sometimes he has a bad habit of putting it on the floor, tonight he went up and finished shot and we needed that. We needed that performance out of him. Good night for him.”
