Early Saturday morning 50 runners met at Pool Park in Shell Rock for the 4 Bridges 5. Top male finisher was Kyle Kueker with a time of 18:34. Top female finisher was Jordan Destival with a time of 22 minutes.
The 5K committee, consisting of Shannon Meyer, Jennifer Miller and Michelle Kappmeyer have a mission of filling a need they saw in the community—a need to run.
“We try to fill the need. There are people looking to run their first 5K, meet goals or set personal bests,” said Meyer, a runner herself.
Each participant received a tastefully designed patriotic t-shirt. The top male and female athletes each received a cash prize, and there were medals for the top three in each age group for both men and women.
